This song excites me about God’s word all over again every time I sing it. When I was 19 years old, Jesus planted me in a wonderful church that taught verse-by-verse through the Bible. This was completely new for me, and I felt like I found an oasis in the desert. I will never forget when my pastor shared how the gospel was told in the meanings of each of the names in the genealogy of Genesis chapter 5. Of course, those ancient fathers and mothers had no idea how God was telling the most beautiful story through the name they just picked for their little babies, but Jesus certainly did.
God knew from the beginning of time that He would send His only Son to be the savior of the world, to bear the penalty for the sins of all mankind. To everyone who believes, He offers salvation and everlasting life.
